September 28th, 1949 - Giuseppina Rossetti born in Castel Campagnano, province of Caserta, Italy, the daughter of the Marco Rossetti and Carolina (Matarazzo).
1967 - Giuseppina immigrated to America with her parents and baby sister(Connie), they settled in Southington, CT
May 12th, 1971 - Angela Carolina DeMarco is born at NB General Hospital in New Britian, CT
December 6th, 1974 - Marco Pasquale DeMarco is born at NB General Hospital in New Britian, CT
November 11th, 1978 - Lucio Saverio DeMarco is born at NB General Hospital in New Britian, CT
1987 - 2007 - In February 1987 Giuseppina, Connie & their husbands Pasquale & Ralph purchase Gene's Corner House Restaurant in the Plantsville section Southington, CT.
They build up the business over the years expanding their services & customer base.
1994 - Connie & Ralph leave for another business opportunity and Giuseppina & Pasquale take over 100%.
2007 - After a successful 20 years they sold the restaurant to focus on traveling & their grandkids.
Sorelle d'Italia in America was organized on March 19, 2010 on the "Festa di San Giuseppe." The club is made up of women who are interested in keeping the Italian heritage and traditions for generations to come.
We are a diversified group of women - businesswomen, homemakers, mothers, single women who come together for our common goal of brining awareness to the Italian-American culture. Being a part of Sorelle d'Italia in America is a wonderful feeling of community and family.
Our love of our heritage bonds us together with a strong emotional tie that encourages others to share in that feeling. Both fluent in Italian and English, there are many Italian regions from where our members or their families come from.
Nevertheless, our goal is a "unified" one - a determination to promote Italian culture, the language, and preserve the many wonderful traditions that are represented throughout the regions of Italy.
